Lamp Moments
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."

Proverbs 3:5–6

We plan, we prepare, we strategize — and none of that is wrong. But the deepest wisdom comes when we hold our plans loosely and let God direct our steps. Trust is not the absence of action — it is action surrendered to a greater hand.

"Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!"

Psalms 46:10

In a world that rewards hustle and noise, God's invitation is breathtakingly countercultural: be still. Not passive — present. Not lazy — listening. Stillness before God is not inactivity; it is the most productive posture of the soul.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."

Jeremiah 29:11

This promise was spoken to a people in exile — not to people on mountaintops. God's good plans often unfold in seasons that feel like wilderness. The promise is not that the path will be comfortable, but that the destination is certain.

"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

Matthew 11:28

Jesus does not say, "Figure it out, try harder, and then come." He says come as you are — tired, burdened, overwhelmed. Rest is not something we earn after we get everything together. It is the gift He offers precisely because we can't.

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."

Romans 8:28

This verse does not say all things are good. It says all things work together for good. The difference matters. God does not promise painless days — He promises purposeful ones. Even the broken pieces are raw material in His hands.
